This initiative, a continuation of the BERC-Luso project focuses on improving partner countries’ abilities to host, collaborate on, and lead clinical trials in accordance with international biomedical practices. The session will present CT-Luso’s objectives, methodologies, milestones, and the outcomes achieved thus far, demonstrating its impact on the development of the involved countries.

Ms Victoria Rutter
This session will focus on the Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship (CwPAMS) and its African Leadership Fellowship in Antimicrobial Stewardship (ALF-A), highlighting their role in enhancing pharmacists’ leadership skills and advancing patient outcomes. The presentation will discuss how these initiatives enable pharmacists, especially in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), to lead sustainable antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) improvement projects, addressing the substantial challenges in AMS in these regions. Through global partnerships and the ALF-A fellowship, pharmacists have been empowered to become AMS leaders within their countries, driving impactful changes and innovations in AMS practices.
