08:05 – 08:25 | MOTU-0301 – Establishing a specialised pharmacy practice competency certification programme in Taiwan Dr. Yuh-Lih Chang, Dr. Yu-Chieh (Jack) Chen and Ms. Chia Chia Pan Since 2019, the Taiwan National Health Insurance Administration has been implementing a pilot plan to enhance the safety and quality of hospital medicines use, particularly for intensive care unit patients, by providing reimbursements for clinical pharmacist services at medical centers and regional hospitals. In support of this initiative, the Taiwan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP) is advancing the professional capabilities of pharmacists through the establishment of a Specialised Pharmacy Practice Competency Certification Programme. This programme focuses on developing specialised pharmacy practice capabilities in critical areas of pharmaceutical care in Taiwan. During the session, TSHP will discuss the development process, the operational challenges of the certification programme, and insights for future implementations of specialist pharmacist certifications. |
08:25 – 08:45 | MOTU-0302 – Parallel advancements of the quality of pharmaceutical care and the role of hospital pharmacists in Greece Mrs Calliope Allagianni Panhellenic Association of Hospital Pharmacists’ (PEFNI’s) will present its ongoing projects and initiatives in matters of improving patient access, ensuring safety and sustainability of medicines supplies, and continuing professional education. The PEFNI’s efforts to establish a national e-platform for shortages reporting, combat antimicrobial resistance, and implement a telepharmacy network and hospital pharmacy specialisation will be highlighted. |
