MOMO-0101 – Challenge of the pharmacy: Show and prove what we do and what we’re worth!

Mrs Martine Ruggli and Dr Stephen Jenkinson
PharmaSuisse is set to deliver a two-part presentation. The first segment will focus on showcasing their innovative approach to engaging the public through humor, highlighting the contributions of pharmacists, alongside a campaign directed at motivating young individuals to pursue careers in pharmacy. The second part of the presentation will underline the value of pharmacists in healthcare systems. This will include sharing findings from research studies, such as a preliminary report on the myCare Start service—an adaptation of New Medicine Services—and the challenges encountered. Also, results from a study examining quality circles that involve collaboration between doctors and pharmacists will be discussed, demonstrating the impact of such cooperative efforts on healthcare outcomes.

MOMO-0102 – Pharmacist in 2040: Vision project on the future of pharmacy

Dr Ka-Chun Cheung, Dr Aris Prins
The “Pharmacist in 2040” initiative, led by KNMP in collaboration with various Dutch pharmacist associations, aims to develop a shared vision for the future role of pharmacists amidst significant societal, workforce, healthcare, technological, and environmental changes. This vision project involves pharmacists from diverse specialisms—industry, hospital, community, education, and research—working together to identify trends and developments that will impact pharmaceutical care and patient service. The project emphasises strengthening the bond among pharmacists to enhance their collective value to society. During the session, the methodology of engaging a broad group of healthcare providers, stakeholders, and patients to gather diverse perspectives and ideas will be discussed, along with sharing the initial results from these collaborative efforts.
